Throughout the year we hold many events that strengthen the bonds between our school and local communities.
We hold annual events to mark Mother’s Day, Grandparents’ Day, Eid, Ramadan, Remembrance Day, World Book Day, and Saint George’s Day.
We are proactive in inviting members of the community to join in, including the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, our school governors and trustees, members of the Inter-Faith Forum, local primary and secondary school pupils and staff, and of our course our own students.
Our school choir regularly perform at King George’s Hall in Blackburn, for pensioners, in care homes and at other schools.
We believe that prejudice stems from ignorance, so we seek to educate our community, break down barriers, and help to end discrimination. We are proud of our multi-national students and how we can learn so much from each other.
School of Sanctuary
Our staff and students are committed to providing a safe and welcoming place for all, so we have applied for and been awarded School of Sanctuary status. We are a school that extends a welcome to everyone as equal, valued members of our community.
Community Forum
Our school hosts a Community Forum, which we organised to aid the local community in working in collaboration to support one another. We discuss issues pertinent to members of our local community and work together to ensure that we tackle any that may have an impact in the area.
Community Forum meetings last approximately an hour. If you have any items you would like to place on the agenda please forward them Mrs S Hussain. For any further queries please contact Mrs S Hussain via e-mail or telephone 01254 505700.
